MOBILE TESTING VANS FOR COVID-19 COMING SOON TO A LOCATION NEAR YOU!

WHAT:  Mobile COVID-19 Testing Vans will be fanning across Central Louisiana to increase viral testing in our region.

WHO: The vans will be manned by members of the Louisiana National Guard who will be performing registration, testing and coordination at all sites.  They are working in collaboration with local Offices of Emergency Preparedness and the Office of Public Health.

FOR WHOM:  Interested individuals must be 18 years of age or older.  You do not need to have any COVID symptoms.  Those with symptoms, contacts with known cases and high risk groups are all encouraged to be tested.  High risk groups include those over 65, diabetics, those with hypertension, cancers, COPD, pregnant, immunocompromised or those living with anyone with these conditions.  Leave your pets at home.  Children will not be tested.

HOW:  Present yourself to the testing site with a photo ID (for age and address verification only).  You will not be turned away if you cannot present an ID.

HOW MUCH:  No payment is required.

WHEN:  The dates vary with the location and are presented in a separate document.  Testing will occur between 8-11 a.m.  Testing will take place for four weeks throughout CENLA.

WHERE:  Many locations are being visited around the region with the hope of increasing testing in all adults, especially isolated and vulnerable populations.  (Please see the attached schedule.)

Positive results will be called to the client and all results (negative and positive) will be mailed to the client’s home address.

Results can be shared with the client’s physician and employer as needed

Please share this information as broadly as possible.  We hope to increase testing in Central Louisiana to achieve the Governor’s goal of at least 4% population testing.
